The Park

Situated in 230 acres of beautiful countryside on the edge of Ashdown Forest , Deers Leap Park is a privately owned, fully working farm open to the public for the quiet enjoyment of the countryside.

Situated in a unique location and beautiful area of the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the rolling landscape of this working farm encompasses a classic range of Wealden scenery, with fields of arable, pasture and rough grazings of varying size, shape, slope and aspect, some crossed or bordered by ditches and streams and most enclosed by hedges.

  • 230 Acres of Sussex Countryside
  • 10 miles of Walking Paths
  • On the beautiful High Weald
  • Free off-road car parking
  • Ideal for Picnicking

Important Notice: Cycles are NOT permitted on the Park

Deers Leap Park is perfect for walking and picnicking, and enjoys some glorious flora and fauna; over 150 different grasses and wildflowers, an excellent variety of summer breeding birds, fallow deer, foxes, hares, rabbits and even badgers can all be seen in their natural habitat.

Walks take you through features such as fields and forests with names such as Long Meadows, The Rift, Cock Robin Wood, Duck Paddock and The Hillies, and you can even catch sight of a Georgian mansion that once belonged to a Maharaja!

Deers Leap Park represents a classic example of the natural “wild countryside” set amidst the varied landscape of the High Weald. Its great merits are in the range of habitats it harbours, and the farm demonstrates beautifully what can be achieved by undertaking routine agricultural management with due care for the surrounding environment.

Please be aware that the Park does not have any public facilities such as toilets or wet weather shelter, changing facilities etc.
